Something to think about

Here is a verse that has always grabbed my attention. I wonder how many of us (myself very included) are able to live up to this simple requirement.
He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

- Micah 6:8

I love mercy when it is extended to me. I have to admit that I don't always love mercy when it is extended to those who I have deemed unworthy.
Anyhow, this verse got me thinking about that today.

I love that verse. My favorite sermon is based on it. Jesus repeats this idea in Mtt.23:23 (go read it, it'll be easy to find -- the words are in red!).

Oh, did you know that Jimmy Carter quoted Micah 6:8 in his innaugral address?

Matthew 23 is pretty rough stuff. Although it is directed to the Pharisees it could easily now read, "Woe to you 21st century Christian..."
