It saddens me that the legacy of the church is not changed lives but big buildings and creative pastors. We need to not be concerned about our own fame but rather reaching out to others.
According to the US Department of Health and Human Services there are 600,000 homeless Americans. There are 542,000 kids in foster care. What are our churches doing for these often overlooked groups. Judging by the numbers not nearly enough.

I hear you bro. I have members who drive by homeless every day, but are throwing a fit because we cancelled Sunday pm services on the 25th - aka Christmas Day. They think attending church twice on a Sunday equals faithfulness.
Jeana,
I know a family who attends Refuge in Grapevine as well.
My wife and I attend Irving Bible Church. We also started a non-profit ministry last year called Partners in Hope. We currently work with two organizations in the DFW area as well as an orphanage in Uganda and an orphanage/school in Sudan.
